Costco was originally supposed to deliver our new appliances on May 31st, then June 5th and then today. All along the way both my husband and I received confirmations that it would be delivered. At this point we have lost faith in Costco's ability to deliver and we need to do some laundry elsewhere. We are giving them one more week. If they still haven't fulfilled their obligations, we will ask for our money back and go somewhere else. Yes, it is already paid for.1Like20

BUNCOMBE COUNTY GOVERNMENTa week agoAgencyWarning: Scammers Target Vulnerable Lost Pet Owners in Buncombe County Neighbors, be warned that numerous reports from owners of lost animals claim that scammers are targeting them for money. Scammers are posing as individuals associated with the Buncombe County Animal Shelter or Animal Control and contacting by phone or text saying: 1) That they are in possession of the lost animal 2) That said animal has been injured and in need of immediate surgery They are then either 1) Requesting a fee to reclaim the pet 2) Requesting money for the “life-saving” surgery 3) Asking you to verify a code that they send to your phone Please be advised that individuals from Buncombe County Animal Shelter, Asheville Humane Society, or Animal Control will never request the verification of a code or the transfer of money over the phone. From our research, it seems that these scammers are obtaining contact information from NextDoor, lost and found pet websites, and local Facebook pages. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your lost pet, please directly contact the Buncombe County Animal Shelter at (828) 250-6430. HENDERSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgency***Press Release*** On Thursday, June 13th, 2024, Detectives with the Drug Interdiction and Criminal Enforcement Division of the Henderson County Sheriff's Office were conducting proactive patrol in the area of Mitchelle Dr and Orrs Camp Rd in Hendersonville. Detectives observed a motor vehicle that was being operated by John Quentin LONDON, age 38 of Hendersonville. LONDON had previously been the subject of numerous community complaints in regards to his involvement in the sell and distribution of illegal controlled substances. Upon observing LONDON, Detectives attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on LONDON, however LONDON attempted to flee. Detectives gave chase to LONDON through Hendersonville before LONDON finally stopped in the area of Wilmont Dr and Tracy Grove Rd. Upon stopping, LONDON and a passenger, later identified as Christopher RUSSELL, age 28 of Hendersonville, fled from the vehicle on foot. Detectives were able to quickly apprehend LONDON after a short foot pursuit. Detectives were able to contain the area and utilized a K9 to attempt to track the whereabouts of RUSSELL. After a short track, RUSSELL was also taken into custody without any further incident. After executing a search warrant on LONDONS vehicle, Detectives located the following items as a result of the incident: 79.12 grams of Methamphetamine 4.74 grams of Cocaine 5.8 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms 5 dosage units of Xanax 100.39 grams of Marijuana $1,160.00 of United States currency 2 firearms LONDON was transported to the Henderson County Detention Center, where he remains in custody with no bond. LONDON was charged with the following crimes: Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Possession Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Transport PWISD Cocaine PWISD of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance PWISD of a Schedule 4 Controlled Substance PWISD Marijuana Resist, Obstruct, Delay of a Public Officer Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine Felony Flee to Elude Arrest Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. RUSSELL was also transported to the Henderson County Detention Center, where he remains in custody under a $500,000.00 bond. RUSSELL was charges with the following crimes: Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Possession Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Transport PWISD Cocaine PWISD of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance PWISD of a Schedule 4 Controlled Substance PWISD Marijuana Resist, Obstruct, Delay of a Public Officer Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine.
