Guilford County Sheriff’s Office asking for help in finding father who went missing in February or March
GALVAN DIED AT THE SCENE. HAPPENING NOW A LEXINGTON MAN IS ACCUSED OF EXPOSING HIMSELF TO A CHILD IN A PARK. ACCORDING TO WARREN 71 YEAR-OLD, VICTOR EVERHART IS CHARGED WITH FELONY INDECENT EXPOSURE. POLICE SAY HE EXPOSED HIMSELF TO A FIVE YEAR OLD AT A PARK BACK ON MARCH 14TH. EVERHART WAS GIVEN $1,000 BOND. HE’S BACK IN COURT JULY 1ST IN RANDOLPH COUNTY. THE MAN THIS MAN IS ACCUSED OF LEADING DEPUTIES ON A CHASE IN A STOLEN CAR. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THEY TRIED TO PULL OVER ISAIAH STARNES JOHNSTON, ON WEDNESDAY ON I-85 NORTH IN ARCHDALE. HE ALLEGEDLY SPED OFF IN DEPUTIES CHASED HIM TO HIGHWAY 62, WHERE HE WAS THEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. INVESTIGATORS SAY THEY FOUND MARIJUANA WHEN THEY SEARCHED THAT STOLEN CAR. HIGH POINT POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING TWO BURGLARIES THAT TOOK PLACE WITHIN ABOUT 15 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER. THE FIRST ONE TAKING PLACE AT SWEDO BAKE SHOP AROUND 4:15 A.M. THURSDAY. THE SECOND AT PORTERHOUSE BURGER COMPANY AROUND 4:30 A.M. THE HIGH POINT BAKERY WAS LEFT WITH A MESS AFTER THE MASKED MAN BROKE IN AND RANSACKED THE PLACE AND GOT AWAY WITH THE BUSINESSES CASH REGISTER, WHICH HAD A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS IN IT. AT THE TIME. THE BREAK IN WAS ALL CAUGHT ON CAMERA. WE ALL WORK VERY HARD FOR EVERYTHING WE HAVE AND JUST FOR SOMEONE TO COME IN AND TAKE THAT, I MEAN IT, IT DOES. IT’S KIND OF UPSETTING. IT’S SAD FOR THEM. IT’S SAD FOR US. UM, AND IT REALLY TAKES LIKE A PRETTY TERRIBLE PERSON TO DO THAT. WORKERS SAY THE MAN WAS IN AND OUT IN ABOUT FIVE MINUTES OR LESS. WHETHER OR NOT HE CAME IN AS A CUSTOMER PRIOR REMAINS A QUESTION ON HIGH POINT. POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING BOTH BREAK INS, BUT AREN’T YET SURE IF THE TWO MIGHT BE RELATED. LET’S STEP OUTSIDE. HAPPENING NOW. THE CITY OF GREENSBORO IS HOSTING A FREE EVENT ABOUT VIOLENCE PREVENTION. PIECE ON PURPOSE GOES ON UNTIL 7:00 THERE AT THE BARBER PARK AMPHITHEATER. A NICE AFTERNOON FOR THIS COMMUNITY. GROUPS WILL BE SPEAKING ABOUT THEIR SERVICES AND LOCAL LEADERS WILL TALK ABOUT WAYS TO REDUCE VIOLENCE THERE IN THE GATE CITY GAMES, MUSIC AND COMMUNITY ART PROJECTS WILL ALSO BE PART OF TONIGHT’S EVENT. AND TOMORROW, THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, ALONGSIDE ATRIUM HEALTH. THEY ARE BOTH TEAMING UP TO GIVE OUT FREE GUN LOCKS. THIS TAKES PLACE AT THE DOWNTOWN HEALTH PLAZA ON MARTIN LUTHER KING JUNIOR DRIVE FROM NINE UNTIL ONE. IN ADDITION TO THE GUN LOCKS, OTHER GENERAL SAFETY ITEMS LIKE LIFE JACKETS AND BIKE HELMETS, THEY WILL BE GIVEN OUT AS WELL. A CONFEDERATE STATUE THAT USED TO STAND IN DOWNTOWN WINSTON-SALEM WILL BE MOVED TO DENTON. MAYOR ALLEN JONES SAYS THE 1905 MONUMENT WILL BE TAKEN TO VALOR PARK. NO WORD ON WHEN THAT WILL TAKE PLACE OR HOW MUCH IT WILL COST THE CITY TO MOVE IT. THE STATUE OF A CONFEDERATE SOLDIER IN UNIFORM HOLDING A RIFLE WAS REMOVED FROM FOURTH AND LIBERTY STREETS BACK IN 2019, CITY LEADERS SAID IT WAS A SAFETY HAZARD DUE
