With so many breweries calling Pennsylvania home, consumers have never been better positioned to pick their destination of choice. At the same time breweries are also offering more than just a few hand crafted pints; many are becoming the perfect destination for a beer getaway.

That’s why we have scoured the state to showcase breweries that we believe offer the ideal location for a beer vacation.

Check them out below:

Black Forest Brewery | Ephrata, PA

When a brewery can be accompanied by an award winning bed and breakfast, you don’t have to look much further for the ideal craft beer destination. Black Forest Brewery is located in the heart of Ephrata on 301 Main Street.

As we mentioned, the brewery sits adjacent to the “1777 Americana Inn Bed & Breakfast” which has been named a Top B&B for Beer Lovers by BedandBreakfast.com. They were one of only six Bed & Breakfasts in the country to receive the award in 2015! Explore the rooms in their B&B for yourself to see why they come so highly recommended.

Offering wine and co*cktails allows you to have the ultimate beer vacation experience for the whole family! See the dining menu here.

Turkey Hill Brewing Company is a brewpub that comes complete with it’s own inn located in an 1800s era refurbished barn. The large wooden structure houses some of the areas best beers and food.

Turkey Hill is not your traditional brewery. While most offer a tap list, accompanied by bar food; this location takes their offerings to the next level which is why we believe it is ideal for the beer traveler. On the main floor you’ll find a cozy English-style pub with stone walls and the warm glow of candle lights. Head upstairs for a more farmhouse design with barnwood floors and ceiling. The lunch and dinner menu ranges from burgers and sandwiches to entrees like Korean BBQ chicken and shepard’s pie and more. Explore the full menu here.

The Breweries Along The Butler Beer Circuit

Staying overnight at the breweries we mentioned above can be very enjoyable. However visiting a large number of breweries over a few days truly makes a beer vacation exciting. We recently traveled along the Butler County Beer Circuit and we believe this is the ideal travel for any beer vacationer.

As of this writing, there are eight breweries that make up the circuit (with more coming); Butler Brew Works, Cellar Works Brewing, Missing Links Brewery, North Country Brewery And Cannery, Reclamation Brewing, Recon Brewing, ShuBrew and Stick City Brewing.

Whatever you’re in the mood for the Butler Beer Circuit is sure to have it. The locations along the beer circuit offer such a variety that there’s no doubt you’ll find something for everyone. Most of the locations along the circuit boast in house food such as; North Country, Missing Links, Cellar Works, ShuBrew, Butler Brew Works, Recon and Reclamation. And even the one that doesn’t (Stick City) still offers rotating food trucks to create a full dining experience.

The beauty of the beer circuit is the fact that no two breweries are alike. With so many miles separating all of the facilities it can be overwhelming to try and enjoy all eight in one day. So we highly recommend making a weekend out of your visit. Each brewery provides such a unique offering there is no reason to rush the trip. With plenty of over night options along the circuit, it’s hard to pass up the opportunity.
