well, some of them ive heard theres a lot of them that have crappy service and getting things in ive exprienced the same kind of service when i used to live in md.

in the hobby shop business if the people are jerks and the service sucks and mad management= out of business.

oh and hobbytown prices are pretty high maybe not all of them though.

you probety seen the lhs that have good service and nice workers stay open right ?

i know i notice it the shops around me.

than again since hobbytown usa is a fancise they probety just closed some down that wasnt doing good .
theres reasons that make that happen also.

yeah i know same thing like you said hobby town has just teenagers looking for a small job that dont know anything about rcs you have to have the owner that is expierenced take care of you and they cant have an attitude which seems to be very common in the hobby stores

That is because the LHS employees are racers and/or people that care about the hobby and their fellow racers and customers . Both of my LHS are great !

since i do have expierence and know what i want when i go its not a huge deal but people that are not very big in rcs yet would need that extra help i did like hobby towns upgrade parts though they do have alot of them

omarwashington01-24-2011 04:08 PM

I would not know if they are going out of business but haven't been to one in a long time since they have a very limited supply of items for your typical racer.

yeah they only really carry some aluminum parts for the rusty or slash not too much associated or hpi

I would guess they are going out of business. The one nearest to me is very small and trys to carry a very small selection of everything hobby wise. And yes the service was horrible the last time I was in there looking for my first vehicle they showed me the 2 they had and that was it. The couldnt tell me anything about them or what else is even needed to complete the vehicle.

My local LHS has a parking lot at the least half full at all times. And on the weekends and big sales they fill it up. Lots of business that hobbytown isnt getting.

Lason01-24-2011 04:15 PM

My LHS is about 45 minutes away and they have awsome service and facility. I also have a hobbytown about 3 minutes down the road so if I need something in a hurry I just go there but the service is horrible! They act like Im bothering them while they work on their own stuff at the counter and then they dont know what they are talking about. I was told yesterday "there is no such thing as 1k diff oil and to stop listening to the internet, I really needed 100k diff fluid instead."

Prices are not as low as the track but is in line with tower and amain with the exception of tax of course.
